Coming Up on Memorial Day (revised).

Coming up on Memorial Day

Before remembering anyone

Just find a memory that’s been taken from

Inside the heart of all of us,

In losing some in gaining more,

In finding that we are still behind the old and stronger ones,

In the hurt and worth we find

to drop our tears.

to Earth again,

And looking on,

Time still forgets its simple truth

When looking at our commonness,

And remembering no particular stuff,

But we soon forget the right or wrong,

In glances back to envious death,

Instead of looking at our lives,

There is no lesson death will teach,

But we should fly from the lie it tells,

As we come to Memorial day.
